Tinkles By Light

Eep, I'm so excited you don't even know.  My wonderful friend, Susan, bought me a Make It Crafty voucher for my birthday so I could get some of their new chippies; well the post being slow as it is, meant I've only just received them after a month of waiting. Thankfully this meant I could get my card finished on time to enter the challenge again. 
I'm definitely going to get more of these chippies as they are so versatile and Zoe has just added even more to the store!!
For my image I combined 'Tinkles' and 'Cold By Light' to create a chilly winter scene. I couldn't resist covering the scene with Fran•táge to the tune of 'Let It Snow' lol.

Getting Wild with Power Poppy

Eep, after joining in with Power Poppy's Hues to Use challenge, I was chosen to be a Guest Designer this week. 
You can join in too by clicking here. There's a new palette each week and the linky lists don't expire. 

I chose to use 'Ruffled Wild Orchids' for this challenge and definitely went a bit wild with the colours. I'm not sure this colour scheme exists in nature, but I know there are some pretty cool orchid colours out there. 

I've made a matching card and tag as I wanted to colour the orchids in two different ways. There's more explanation of my process over on the Power Poppy Blog.

Merriest Wishes

Ah don't you just love Black Friday... all those crowds and people scrabbling for bargains?! No? Me either, I don't venture anywhere near the shops. BUT - I do love a bargain and shopping from the comfort of my sofa, so I couldn't resist snapping up some gorgeous goodies from Power Poppy. 

I have made a CAS Christmas card using 'Merriest Berries' for the Power Poppy challenge theme, which is Portion Control.  I rarely only use parts of stamps, so this was fun to play with.

Steampunk Imagination

I've been eyeing the 'Steampunk Dark Angel' by Aurora Wings for ages, but kept bypassing it as I was a bit intimidated to be honest! But with the cute 'Reindeer Sprite' being a freebie with purchase recently, I decided to go for it.  It was a good choice as the day after, Aurora Wings announced their new challenge theme - Metallics!! 

Naturally I had to make myself something with this image and as it's been a while since I did a canvas, that's what I made.  I haven't done step-by-step photos as I was having too fun creating and forgot.

Glow Like Christmas

After joining in with the Make It Crafty Secret Santa, I couldn't resist getting some more images and creating something for the new challenge. I'm on my way to getting all my Christmas cards done, but you can never have too many!

The challenge theme is 'Glow' so I've used 'Front Door Wreath' as it has lanterns, candles and windowpanes which are perfect for the challenge. 

I've made a CAS card, as with larger images I like that to be the focal point.

Recycled Wreath

I was having a dig around in my Christmas decorations and came across this sad, squashed wreath that I made years ago. Usually I keep using the same decorations year after year, so I thought it was about time to update something.  I completely stripped it and started again to create a whole new wreath.  I've used 'Christmas Lights Sprite' from Aurora Wings as the "centrepiece".

Halloween ATC Triptych

A Mer-ry Christmas Secret Santa

Well we might only just be into November, but I've already given my first Christmas card. I joined the Make It Crafty Secret Santa swap and was paired up with my friend Susan! We met for coffee the other night to exchange cards as that is far more reliable than the postal system here. 

I wanted to make something different than the expected Christmas card, so I went for a mermaid image (Galene - also because I had to post a sneaky peek and I knew Susan would be looking through the images, bahaha). She's holding a harp, so I thought that was fairly Christmassy at least. 
I haven't made a circle easel card for ages, so I went with that with a little vellum window to add a tealight behind.  I must say, it looks really cool.
