 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I am delighted to be a guest designer for Penny's Paper-Crafty Challenge today. I chose to use 'New Baby' from Twinkle Lane Designs

I love making neutral baby cards as all the pink and blue get a bit much for me after a while! It's also great to have something ready for that last-minute notice.

Fairy Sleepy

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I've had this cute Mo Manning image for a while but get so busy with design team work and life that I've taken forever to colour it.  'Fairy Sleepy' is now a retiring image so if you don't have it already go and grab it soon!

I kept my card fairly simple with pastel colours and some texture.

Fairy wings always need some glitter!

Thank you for stopping by to check out my creation.

I have used 'The Glamorous Girls' this time as they are definitely ready for a party.  My scene represents bright disco lights and of course had to be very glittery!

Don't the girls look super glam in their fun outfits?

Guest Designer at Sweet November Stamps

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I have the honour of being Guest Designer for the Sweet November new stamp release today. You can grab all of the Frightful Flutterbees here.

I decided to make a pocket letter as I've only ever made one and these cute little characters are so perfect for ATC size.  The background builder 'Vampire Cavern' and the cute bats that come with the characters really help to set a scene.

My character ATCs are:

'Conversation' featuring Mina

'Flying Free' featuring William

'Just Hanging Around' featuring Lydia

Amy has created some amazing scenes looking out of the caves, so I might have to try that way around next time. I'd love to see your creations with these in the Facebook Group.

All Tied Up at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and this time we're getting all tied up with Ribbons, String & Lace!

I'm quite addicted to flavoured teas, so I always have boxes and tins saved for upcycling. This tin has a great cardboard outer layer which I thought would make a great holder when turned up the other way.

I have used the wonderful 'Enchanted Rockabilly' on a die-cut oval, missing out the wings so they stick out.

I wrapped the holder in pale pink card and used Distress Ink to colour it pink, then added polka dots using a stamp. I finished off with my lacy ribbon and a pink bow.
I accidentally bent the wings when I was rolling the holder round to add the polka dots, so I'm quite sad about that. Hopefully the glitter distracts from it though.

Please come and join in our challenge this week and remember, you can use any image but if you use a Paper Shelter image you are eligible for a higher value prize!

Don't forget to also share your creations over in our Facebook Group.

A Snowy Day

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I've been loving watching colouring videos lately and discovered a fun technique from Amy of Sweet November Stamps (you can catch her live on her page "Adventures in Coloring with Amy" She did a foggy scene by adding white shapes over her digital image and making them slightly transparent, so they would make some of the black lines fainter. I coloured up my own version and shared it in the group.

I was reading a Frozen book to my daughter the other night and one picture with swirls of blowing snow got me thinking that I could do the same technique for that kind of scene. I had to do a freehand drawn swirl shape in my drawing app, as there was nothing suitable in the set shapes. I left them with a faint outline, so I would still be able to see the shapes on the page. My silly printer didn't really print them though, so I used my screen as a guide to draw them back in and it worked out really well.

I didn't colour any of the image behind the 'snow' as it's denser than fog. I gave it a little sparkly feel with some white paint pen to finish off.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you can try this technique out too.
