A Mer-May-Zing Underwater Scene

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I'm back again with another fun scene for Mer-May. I am still using 'Pirate Treasures - Silver' and 'Pirate Background Builder Set' from Sweet November, but I have created a whole new scene.

I was feeling a bit more ambitious this time as I wanted to go from above water to underwater. I haven't done this kind of transition before, so I wasn't sure if what was in my head would translate to what I could colour. I'm really happy with how it turned out and definitely want to try this again.

I started by marking out where I wanted the horizon and transition to underwater, plus the sand just past the shipwreck. Then I got everything coloured up, which took a couple of sessions as I was short for time.

I wanted the underwater part to be more washed out to appear different to the rest of the scene, so I took a pale green marker and coloured over the whole thing.

I added details with a white pen and that definitely helped with the way the water looks above.

Here is 'Silver' closeup

Thanks for stopping by to check out my work, I hope you come back soon!
