Wow, last challenge of the week - 'Friday Freebie/Theme'.  It's been a busy week and as I'd actually caught up with the rest of the challenges,  I started designing this card before even knowing what the freebie image was!  I'm so glad it's cupcakes as it works with the flowers really well.

Monster Birthday

I don't really make that many children's cards apart from the odd birthday, so this challenge (Catch The Bug 'Just Kidding Around') was a good excuse to do something bright and bold.

I have used this following materials for this card:
  • Papermania card and patterned papers
  • Bugaboo image - Birthday Monster Present
  • Watercolour pencils
  • Apple Boy font
  • 3D foam pads
  • Westcott tearing ruler

Sugar & Spice Easel Card

I've never made so many challenge cards in such a short time.  Glad Bugaboo don't have birthdays every day! My little one starting nursery has given me more time to be creative though, so that has really helped.

This easel card is for the 'New Release Tuesday/Bling It Up' challenge.

I have used the following materials:
  • Dovecraft card
  • Bugaboo image - Birthday Girly
  • Patterned papers,  chipboard sentiments, fabric tape and other embellishments from Basic Grey's Mint Julep collection
  • Gems from my stash
  • Watercolour pencils
  • Glitter glue

Bright Lilies card

I have used the following materials:
  • Plain card from my stash
  • Core'dinations Glitter Silk
  • Bugaboo image - Lily Block

Rainbow Sunburst Birthday Card

Bugaboo stamps are celebrating their 4th birthday and holding a week of challenges.  I am going to have a busy week trying to make cards for each of these!

My new technique for this card is the sunburst.  I've been seeing lots of these on Pinterest and they all look so different.  Such a good way to use up scraps too.

I have used the following materials:
  • Card scraps from my stash
  • Bugaboo image - tall birthday cake
  • Watercolour pencils
  • Anita's 3D gloss
  • Patterned paper, ribbon and bow from DoCrafts
  • Outline stickers from Little Claire Designs
  • Embossing folders from Sizzix and Embossalicious

Sweetie Box

As you know I'm a big fan of Papercrafter magazine and their wonderful kits and papers.  They always give me inspiration to create something new and as the latest issue had a sweetie box feature,  I had to give it a try.
I did mean to take photos as I went along but I got so into it, I totally forgot!

Using the template, I cut out all the elements and scored/cut where required. I then cut different patterned paper to size and covered the entire box and lid before assembling.
To complete the box I added an image to the top of the lid plus ribbon round the edge, plus sequins and a chipboard shape covered with patterned paper to the front of the scoop.

Joy Fold Card

I've been adding many card designs to my Pinterest boards recently and discovered some interesting ones using a Joy Fold.  I hadn't tried this before so getting the new Papercrafter magazine with its wonderful kit gave me an opportunity to try it.
I won't go into too much detail about how it's made as there's so many tutorials already and it's really quite simple.  I used these instructions from Split Coast Stampers, but you can make it in many different sizes.
First I cut the main two pieces of card and scored, then glued patterned paper to the back flap of the largest piece.  I then glued the smaller piece of card to the centre of the patterned paper, with the fold on the right.
I cut a smaller piece of lighter-coloured card to fit the front of the small flap and rubbed a transfer in the bottom right corner, finishing off with the chipboard embellishments and sequin flowers.
I glued patterned paper to the other flaps where needed and added a sentiment and gems inside the smaller flap.
