Nautical Retirement

Hello Crafty Peeps,

It's been a while since I managed a non-DT post. Life got busy lately. I've been making plenty, but just don't get much time on the computer any more.

My bestie bought me some gorgeous handmade papers from her trip and one of them was perfect for a nautical-themed card. I also grabbed some new patterned papers from Dollarama. I always look when I go in there as you never know what they will have!

I have used a sketch and have no digital images, which is not something I usually do! This card isn't for anyone specific, but I hadn't used this sentiment die before.

Being British, red, white and blue are always good colours to use!!

Thanks for stopping by, your kind comments are always appreciated.

Asana Cube at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

Summer is finally upon us and the sun is shining after all the rain we've had lately. It's a great time to get out and exercise, which brings me to this week's theme at The Paper Shelter - Let's Get Physical.

I've been going to hot yoga since October, so I chose four of the yoga pose images for my project this week. I was going to make a card, but I changed my mind and made a decorative cube instead.

The images used are: 'Triangle - Trikonasana', 'Crow - Bakasana', 'Tree - Vrikshasana' and 'Lotus - Padmasana'.

I was originally going to have a regular bow on top, but I was fiddling with ideas and decided I liked having all of the colours from the images.

I chose to do each image monochromatic, based on one of the chakra colours that the move represents.

Crow (Bakasana) - Dark Blue/Indigo - Third Eye

Tree (Vrikshasana) - Red - Root

(Lotus - Padmasana) - Violet/White - Crown

Triangle - Trikonasana - Orange - Sacral

The symbol for each chakra is a lotus with a differing numbers of petals. This website has a pretty good explanation. I think the symbols alone would make for beautiful card toppers and other crafts!

Mushroom For Celebration at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

It's time for another challenge at The Paper Shelter and this week our theme is
A Time To Celebrate.

My friend has just bought her first house with her other half, so this is a great reason to celebrate, and Pg27 of 'Enchanted Mushroom Houses' is the perfect house to celebrate with!

She does like puns, so I couldn't resist this sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today. Your kind comments are always appreciated.
