A Mer-May-Zing Underwater Scene

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I'm back again with another fun scene for Mer-May. I am still using 'Pirate Treasures - Silver' and 'Pirate Background Builder Set' from Sweet November, but I have created a whole new scene.

I was feeling a bit more ambitious this time as I wanted to go from above water to underwater. I haven't done this kind of transition before, so I wasn't sure if what was in my head would translate to what I could colour. I'm really happy with how it turned out and definitely want to try this again.

I started by marking out where I wanted the horizon and transition to underwater, plus the sand just past the shipwreck. Then I got everything coloured up, which took a couple of sessions as I was short for time.

I wanted the underwater part to be more washed out to appear different to the rest of the scene, so I took a pale green marker and coloured over the whole thing.

I added details with a white pen and that definitely helped with the way the water looks above.

Here is 'Silver' closeup

Thanks for stopping by to check out my work, I hope you come back soon!

Magical & Mystical at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I'm back with some more inspiration for The Paper Shelter and this week we have a Magical & Mystical challenge for you. There's many images in the store that fit this theme, but I have chosen 'Spirit Of The Woods' for a layered card.

I drew my own background to give a bit of a forest feel to the picture.

I bought this fun leafy twine in the dollar store a while back, but hadn't used it yet. It's perfect for this mystical forest scene though!

Please come and join in our challenge this week and remember, you can use any image but if you use a Paper Shelter image you are eligible for a higher value prize!

Mer-May Birthday Treasure

Hello Crafty Peeps,

How did half of Mer-May fly by already!? Oops. Well I'm not going to let the whole month go without posting some mermaids.

Today I am sharing a few images from Sweet November stamps. I've been more into creating scenes since watching Amy colour them up, and they're super easy to make when using digital stamps.

This scene is created with 'Pirate Treasures - Silver' and 'Pirate Background Builder Set' plus my own sentiment that I added in Photoshop. The fish and seaweed are freehand.

Of course I had to add some detail and sparkle to her tail

Out Of This World at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

This week at The Paper Shelter we are celebrating Star Wars Day with a fun challenge that is Out Of This World.

I chose 'Fairy Queen' as she has Princess Leia space buns and her outfit reminds me a bit of the controversial slave costume from Return Of The Jedi.

Of course I had to give her sparkly wings

I made a Double-Z Fold card with lots of stars

And some gems for the finishing touch
