Christmas Cheer

It's been a long time since I used a Ching-Chou Kuik image, so I figured Christmas would be the perfect time to break out some old favourites. 'Poinsettia Fairy' is from a set of 4 Christmas images that you can grab in the CCK Etsy store.

I have made my first reverse easel for this image. I love making easel cards, so it's quite a surprise that I've never made this style before.

I kept everything monochromatic in different shades of red to play on the poinsettia colours.

The sentiment is chipboard finished off with some sparkly embossing

  • Card blank
  • Cardstock
  • 'Tis The Season paper
  • Paper Poinsettias

It's a Sprite Kinda Christmas at Tiddly Inks

Hello Tiddly Peeps,

I'm back again with some more inspiration, this time a brand new image from Tiddly Inks 'Christmas Sprites', which you can find over in the Etsy store.

These cuties come in a fabulous bundle with them separately and together, plus freebie decorations and a tree. I have combined all the elements to create a full scene for a CAS card.

I kept to traditional colours for the sprites' outfits and added some shine with white pen.

I added some texture on the tree and had to have coloured lights of course!

Have you grabbed these sprites yet? Please come over to our Facebook group to show off your makes with them or any other Tiddly Inks images.

A Sparkling Celebration

Well 2020 certainly has been crazy but we're close to seeing a new year in, so I thought I'd make a celebratory tag using the perfect image from The Paper Shelter 'A New Beginning'. It's been a while since I made a bottle tag and this one is a little smaller than I usually do. I didn't want something big and fussy though as the image says it all.

For the champagne foam I have lined over the black with white pen to tone it down a bit and added some dimension with Liquid Pearls.

A Deerheart Christmas at Tiddly Inks

 Hello Tiddly Peeps,

We had some lovely sunshine here this morning, but now it has turned grey and is snowing again. It's a perfect backdrop for my latest inspiration for Tiddly Inks though.

This time I have used a colouring page from 'Friendship Days Digital Coloring Book' as the focal point of my card. This page features the images from the 'Deerheart' stamp set, arranged together for a beautiful snowy forest scene.

I have used Wink of Stella to give the snow some sparkle, but it's hard to see from this photo (typical the sun decided to go in right then!)

I have given the skirt some dimension with glittery enamel dots.

I finished off with a fun die-cut sentiment and some more enamel dots to represent snowfall.

Please come over to the Tiddly Inks Facebook Group to share all your wonderful makes with us. I promise we don't bite!

Warm Wishes & Cocoa Kisses at Tiddly Inks

 Hello Tiddly Friends!

Oh my it has been a little while since I brought you some inspiration. It's been rather a busy time for me these past few weeks, but I'm on a roll again and can't wait to show you some creations.

Today I have used the very cute 'Wryn Cocoa Wishes' to make a cheery layered card.

I've given the image a bit of texture with denim pants and a fluffy headband. I chose the background paper after colouring and matting and so happy that it matches perfectly.

I added some dimension for the marshmallows using some puffy paint.

Have you popped into the Tiddly Inks Facebook Group lately? There's always wonderful makes from our design team and members.

Seas The Day

 Hey Crafty Peeps!

It was fairly sunny here today, but very chilly. Where I live right now I am totally land-locked, but I used to live in a seaside town back home. I'm an air sign so I can be pretty much anywhere, but sometimes I do miss being able to walk along the beach. I'm trying to imagine some summer warmth right now, so 'Gifts From The Sea' by Power Poppy seemed the perfect image to bring back some memories.

I've brought a bit of mermaid vibes to my card by using a scales embossing folder on pearl card. Pearls and some Fran·táge to emulate a bit of sea foam finish the look off nicely.

I kept the colours fairly muted for the actual image as I wanted it to be quite soft and natural.

  • Card blank
  • Plain, textured and pearl cardstock

I have used all the fun Halloween colours for her outfit and hair and given a little sparkly magic from her wand.

Serene Lilies at Tiddly Inks

Hello Tiddly Peeps!
You are probably familiar with the cute characters from Tiddly Inks, but did you know that Christy also has some florals and backgrounds?

Today I bring to you a CAS inspiration featuring 'Calla Lily' from the set 'My Grandmother's Flowers'.
Usually I make wedding cards with calla lilies, so I wanted to do something different.  I wanted to convey a sense of peace without it being a sympathy card, so I opted for a simple layered card with minimal colours.

I really like using these smaller top-fold cards at the moment.

Have you used a Tiddly Inks image recently? Please come over to our Facebook Group to share, as we love to see all your gorgeous makes.

Flight of Fancy

Power Poppy images are always fun to colour, so when I saw 'Time To Fly' I had to have it.  I only have a couple of images with butterflies and this also has a Steampunk vibe to it which I love.
The image doesn't need any embellishing as it's got so much going on but I wanted to give it a little something, so I decided to print the butterflies twice and only glue them in the centre to make them 'fly'

Succa For You at Tiddly Inks

Hello Tiddly Peeps!

It's definitely summer here today as we have bright blue skies and heat warnings.  A perfect day to be in the cool of air conditioning and do some crafting.
Today I am bringing you a CAS card using the 'Cactus' collection of images.
These five plants are great to print and colour singly or arrange them any way you like to create your own image.
I have used all of them once to create a simple row of plants and added my own sentiment that I created in Photoshop.
To finish off my card I added a couple of clear epoxy hearts. I think they perfectly match the sentiment and I see them as heart-shaped water droplets.

Be Still and Know

It's been a few months since I made and blogged anything other than design team work, so I thought it was about time to sort that out.  I have so many images that I've never coloured and I always tell myself I will use them, but then other things take priority.

Today I have made a CAS card using 'Ultimate Poppy' from Power Poppy. Usually I print whole images, so this time I thought I would do something different and just use part of the image in the corner. I used the 'no-lines' technique and left lots of white space so the image really stands out.

Products used:

  • Card blank
  • Black cardstock
  • ProMarkers - Mustard, Tulip Yellow, Umber, Burnt Sienna, Cinnamon, Burgundy, Cardinal, Poppy & Red

Sparkly Celebration at Tiddly Inks

Hello Tiddly Peeps!

Canada Day and Independence Day may have passed, but there is always a reason to celebrate. If you are part of the Facebook crafting communities, you should have seen Christy's fabulous freebie 'Patriotic Wryn' in Kit and Clowder. Don't worry if you missed it though, there are many more freebies on the Tiddly Inks Blog.

Wryn is holding a sparkler, so I decided a CAS card with some fireworks in the background would be perfect for her.

Keeping with the image name, I decided to colour her in red, white and blue. I gave a pop of colour with the yellow glitter for the sparkler and her hair accessory.
I do hope you come to join us on Facebook to share your fabulous Tiddly makes.

A Monsterific Birthday at Tiddly Inks

Have you seen the fun new gothic cuties in the Tiddly Inks store? For my inspiration today I have used 'Monsterific', which you can grab here.

I chose a fun layered card using green and purple, which I think are great monster colours
I have loads of green buttons which I won years ago, so I just had to embellish with these.  I added a cross of black thread on them to match the buttons on the image.

I would love to see you over at the Tiddly Inks Facebook group, where we have lots of people sharing their wonderful makes.
