I couldn't resist colouring up this cute freebie - Melanie Ornaments - from Stamp Anniething (for Kit & Clowder Advent Calendar).  You can never have too many Christmas cards, lol.  I wanted to go with non-traditional bright colours for this one as I've been doing mostly traditional this year.  This image really suits something different too.

Holiday Hugs

I'm loving all the different makes for Power Poppy's 12 Days of Christmas and am trying to do a few at least. I've had a few gift boxes pinned for a while but just not made any yet, so this was the perfect excuse.  I always like to have a little something to hand for Christmas in case of unexpected visits.
I have used part of the image 'Poinsettia and Pomegranates' to decorate the front panel. The box felt a little plain even after adding the twine and charm, so I used the leftover doily from making my gift card holders to decorate the top of the handle each side.

Products used:

  • Kraft card
  • Doily
  • Twine
  • Candy Cane charm
  • ProMarkers - Holly, Lush Green, Bright Green, Leaf Green, Shale, Burgundy, Cardinal & Ruby

I am entering my treat box into the following challenges:

Cheery Snow Globe

I printed this image a while ago but then got caught up with DT work and making other cards, so it got left by the wayside.  I still had a couple more Christmas cards to make though so grabbed it out.
It's actually a couple of images merged together - Little Miss Muffet Stamps 'Mason Jar Snowglobe' and Make It Crafty 'Lamp' (this was actually given as a freebie in the Facebook group, but you can find the same lamp in the image 'Cold By Light'.
The colouring on this is a bit experimental as I was trying for a glitter globe rather than a snow globe. It doesn't look quite so glittery as I'd like, but I'm still pretty happy for a first attempt.

Products used:

  • Kraft card blank
  • Dovecraft 'A Krafty Christmas' designer paper
  • Ribbon
  • Twine
  • Snowflake charm
  • MIC Chippies
  • Stitched hill die
  • Anita's 3D gloss
  • Sakura Gelly Roll - White
  • Prismacolor pencil - White
  • ProMarkers - Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Gold, Sunflower, Canary, Lemon, Cool Grey 1-5, Holly, Lush Green, Forest Green, Crimson, Berry, Lipstick, Warm Grey 1 & 2, Shale, Amber, Cobalt, Blue Pearl, Powder Blue & Soft Lime

A Krafty Little Tag

I've made a ton of Christmas cards now and I still need to make a few more.  It's never-ending at this time of year! I needed a break from cards and had this gorgeous 'Reindeer Sprite' from Aurora Wings all coloured up, so thought I'd make a tag.
Usually I would use my tag dies or circular dies for this, but I've got a gorgeous set of fancy dies from Spellbinders and thought they'd make a beautiful tag shape. I've gone pretty simple here to show off the cute image.

  • Kraft card
  • Dovecraft 'A Krafty Christmas' designer paper

Tinkles By Light

Eep, I'm so excited you don't even know.  My wonderful friend, Susan, bought me a Make It Crafty voucher for my birthday so I could get some of their new chippies; well the post being slow as it is, meant I've only just received them after a month of waiting. Thankfully this meant I could get my card finished on time to enter the challenge again.
I'm definitely going to get more of these chippies as they are so versatile and Zoe has just added even more to the store!!
For my image I combined 'Tinkles' and 'Cold By Light' to create a chilly winter scene. I couldn't resist covering the scene with Fran•táge to the tune of 'Let It Snow' lol.

You can join in too by clicking here. There's a new palette each week and the linky lists don't expire.

I chose to use 'Ruffled Wild Orchids' for this challenge and definitely went a bit wild with the colours. I'm not sure this colour scheme exists in nature, but I know there are some pretty cool orchid colours out there.
I've made a matching card and tag as I wanted to colour the orchids in two different ways. There's more explanation of my process over on the Power Poppy Blog

Recycled Wreath

I was having a dig around in my Christmas decorations and came across this sad, squashed wreath that I made years ago. Usually I keep using the same decorations year after year, so I thought it was about time to update something.  I completely stripped it and started again to create a whole new wreath.  I've used 'Christmas Lights Sprite' from Aurora Wings as the "centrepiece".

  • Wired holly tinsel
  • Burlap braided 'ribbon'
  • ProMarkers - Soft Lime, Leaf Green, Apple, Meadow Green, Cool Grey 1-3, Shale, Burgundy, Cardinal, Ruby, Pumpkin, Gold, Tulip, Sunflower, Canary, Black, Cool Grey 5, Lush Green, Holly, Mint Green & Lemon
