Spellbinding at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Spooky Peeps!

It's that time of year again where all the holiday countdowns begin. Are you a fan of Halloween? I definitely am.

This week at The Paper Shelter we have a fun (optional) challenge theme for you - GHOSTLY VELLUM. Add vellum over something on your project to give it a ghostly appearance.

I used Halloween Spell to decorate a book that I covered with handmade paper.

I didn't take a photo of the side, but I used Mod Podge and gold leaf on the page edges.

The image after colouring.

And with the vellum over for that spooky look.

I coloured the cauldron again over the vellum, and added the sentiment in vinyl to make those elements stand out more.

While I was playing with vinyl, I decided to add some to the book spine too.

Our challenges are now ANYTHING GOES with an optional theme. Anyone playing the theme will receive DOUBLE ENTRIES towards the weekly prize!!

You can also share your creations over in our Facebook Group.

All Tied Up at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

It's time for a new challenge at The Paper Shelter and this time we're getting all tied up with Ribbons, String & Lace!

I'm quite addicted to flavoured teas, so I always have boxes and tins saved for upcycling. This tin has a great cardboard outer layer which I thought would make a great holder when turned up the other way.

I have used the wonderful 'Enchanted Rockabilly' on a die-cut oval, missing out the wings so they stick out.

I wrapped the holder in pale pink card and used Distress Ink to colour it pink, then added polka dots using a stamp. I finished off with my lacy ribbon and a pink bow.
I accidentally bent the wings when I was rolling the holder round to add the polka dots, so I'm quite sad about that. Hopefully the glitter distracts from it though.

Please come and join in our challenge this week and remember, you can use any image but if you use a Paper Shelter image you are eligible for a higher value prize!

Don't forget to also share your creations over in our Facebook Group.

Getting Girly at The Paper Shelter

 Hello Crafty Peeps,

I am excited to announce that I have joined the design team over at The Paper Shelter and this is my very first inspiration post for them.

This week the theme is Girly and I'm sure that will be an easy one to follow, as there are so many gorgeous girlies in the store!

I have used 'The Lady' for an upcycled jewellery box. I always keep decent boxes and this tea box was just perfect.

For the image I have chosen typical girly pink and surrounded her with some lace. A pearl earring gives the finishing touch.

I covered the box with some floral paper on the top and matching striped paper on the bottom.

I also added the floral paper to the inside lid to cover up the wording that was on there. The original mint green of the box goes well with the papers though, so I didn't cover all of it.

Be sure to join in the fun as there are some amazing prizes up for grabs.
