Pretty Lilies at Ching-Chou Kuik

Hello all,

How time flies - already my last inspiration post for July at Ching-Chou Kuik.  I do hope you've been checking out all the other gorgeous inspiration from the team and added your own creations to the challenge.

This week the team have an 'Anything Goes' theme.  I chose to use an image that I actually coloured a little while ago, but never added to a card.  She is the gorgeous 'Lily'.  I had to have this one as they are my favourite flower and also my daughter's name.

Product list:
  • Cream cardstock
  • HunkyDory cardstock and embellishment
  • Centura Pearl cardstock
  • Ribbon
  • X-Cut nesting oval die
  • ProMarkers - Burnt Sienna, Caramel, Dusky Pink, Satin, Rose Pink, Turquoise, Cool Aqua, Lemon, Cardinal, Tulip, Forest Green, Cool Grey 1 & 3, Burgundy, Tea Green, Duck Egg, Cyan, Mulberry & Cerise

Had to to show the gorgeous sheen of the Centura Pearl card!

Pretty As A Flower

I will start off this post with my blonde moment:
I fairly recently started using Canson Illustration card for my markers, as the regular card I was using was feathering. Unfortunately it is 250g and my printer doesn't like it.  So a very clever lady called Lucy recommended I tape a piece of paper to the end to trick the printer.  It actually works and I've been using the method since. (Another unfortunate thing about this card is that it's 9"x12" so I have to cut off half an inch before it will fit in my printer).
I was rushing a bit in my printing as it was bedtime for the kiddies and I put the card in the wrong way up.  Normally not a problem as my printer doesn't like thick card.... apart from right at that moment when it decided to work!  So a couple of images printed across the tape. Typical.
I'm not one to waste though and the two images were flowers so I knew I could just use them cropped.

One of the images is Conie Fong's 'Flowers In A Vase'. This is a freebie image over on her Facebook group right now to celebrate the one year anniversary of her Etsy shop. I've put it behind a frame I made with gold card and two dies and mounted it to a flower-shaped card as I think this works really well.

Products used to create my card:
  • HunkyDory flower card blank
  • Designer Papers & tag 'English Tea Party' (magazine freebie)
  • DoCrafts ribbon & eyelet
  • X-Cut nesting dies, circle and scalloped circle
  • Gold cardstock

Sleigh Bells Ring

I don't usually make Christmas things this early, but it's been dreary today so I thought I'd brighten the day with an ornament.
My original thought was to make a shaker 'bauble', but then I figured why not make a few and create something more like a mobile. I chose two images from KennyK Stamps 'Sleigh' and 'Happy Holidays'. (I removed the bauble hanger part of the image so it would just be round).
After printing the images I die cut and coloured them.
I then die cut snowfall acetate plus coloured card to create the other baubles. I don't have a magnetic platform so I just use masking tape to hold the dies.
I added some thicker card to the back of the sleigh image to give it strength then glued twine around the edge.
To create the shakers, I stuck the acetate behind the 'windows' then added a strip of 3D foam tape to keep the confetti in. I then stuck this to the background card shapes.
I finished off my ornament by adding twine to hang the baubles plus some small bells. I also decorated the baubles with gold Sharpie.

The Promarkers I used were: Cool Greys 1, 2 & 5, Black, Coo Aqua, Arctic Blue, Sky Blue, Cobalt, True Blue, Indigo, Mint Green, Tea Green, Apple, Forest Green, Pine, Buttercup, Tulip Yellow, Mustard, Raw Sienna, Burnt Sienna, Caramel, Sandstone, Umber, Henna, Burnt Orange, Soft Peach, Peach, Blush, Coral, Sunkissed Pink, Dusky Pink, Rose Pink, Pink Carnation, Cerise, Mulberry, Aubergine, Plum & Amethyst.

I am entering my Christmas decoration into the following challenges:
  1. Club Kenny K - #11 Anything Goes
  2. A Bit More Time To Craft - #22 Anything Goes
  3. 613 Avenue Create - #180 Anything Goes
