I shared a card using the freebie at the beginning of the month, so this time I am using the awesome Captain Locke.  Continuing with the trend of using the DP I bought at Michaels, and seeing as the DT theme is Masculine, I have coloured her in green tones and paired her with the camo paper and some metal embellishments.

Pansy Sprite Tag

Ooh did you see the gorgeous freebie over at Aurora Wings?  I missed out on entering the challenge with my last sprite as it came out a day after I posted. Oh well.... Mitzi is offering her newest addition 'Pansy Sprite' for the duration of the new challenge, so what a great excuse to make something else.
I rarely make tags, but I loved making my CCK tag so much I decided it was about time to make another one.

  • Core'dinations Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress Collection
  • Metal embellishment and Brad from my stash

Pretty As A Flower

I will start off this post with my blonde moment:
I fairly recently started using Canson Illustration card for my markers, as the regular card I was using was feathering. Unfortunately it is 250g and my printer doesn't like it.  So a very clever lady called Lucy recommended I tape a piece of paper to the end to trick the printer.  It actually works and I've been using the method since. (Another unfortunate thing about this card is that it's 9"x12" so I have to cut off half an inch before it will fit in my printer).
I was rushing a bit in my printing as it was bedtime for the kiddies and I put the card in the wrong way up.  Normally not a problem as my printer doesn't like thick card.... apart from right at that moment when it decided to work!  So a couple of images printed across the tape. Typical.
I'm not one to waste though and the two images were flowers so I knew I could just use them cropped.

One of the images is Conie Fong's 'Flowers In A Vase'. This is a freebie image over on her Facebook group right now to celebrate the one year anniversary of her Etsy shop. I've put it behind a frame I made with gold card and two dies and mounted it to a flower-shaped card as I think this works really well.

Products used to create my card:
  • HunkyDory flower card blank
  • Designer Papers & tag 'English Tea Party' (magazine freebie)
  • DoCrafts ribbon & eyelet
  • X-Cut nesting dies, circle and scalloped circle
  • Gold cardstock
  • ProMarkers - Olive, Moss, Pear, Pine, Forest, Apple, Raw Sienna, Gold, Mustard, Burnt Orange, Peach, Soft Peach, Antique Pink, Pastel Pink, Sunkissed Pink, Khaki, Canary, Lemon, Soft Lime, French Navy, Cobalt, Powder Blue, Purple, Amethyst, Orchid, Lilac, Lavender, Fuchsia, Pink Carnation & Blossom

Something Wicked This Way Comes at Club KennyK

Wow, where did October go? It's already my last Halloween guest post at Club KennyK
The theme is 'Something Wicked This Way Comes' so obviously I had to break out the Graphic 45.  I've made so many Halloween cards recently, I wanted to do a little something different for this challenge. My Mum gave me a vase of black roses, so I've made a vase 'wrap' (or maybe it's a tag, I'm not sure what to call it) using 'Devil Girl'.
Other products I have used for my creation:
  • Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells papers & embellishments
  • Core'dinations Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Collection cardstock
  • Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink 'Walnut Stain'
  • Tonic Tim Holtz Paper Distresser
  • Twine, ribbon & gems from my stash
  • ProMarkers - Umber, Burnt Sienna, Raw Sienna, Gold, Cool Grey 5, Crimson, Ruby, Berry, Burgundy, Cardinal, Sandstone & Cocoa

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges:

Pop-Up Box Birthday Card

A friend asked me to make a special card for her mum's 60th birthday, so it was the perfect opportunity to try a pop-up box card. I'd been looking at these for a while on Pinterest and was very intrigued by them.
They look quite complicated to make, but are actually quite simple. It can get a little bit fiddly arranging all the pop-up elements, but they look stunning when finished.

I've used the following materials to create this card:
  • Papermania card, eyelet and brads
  • Melissa Frances 'Classic Elegance' papers and pearls
  • X-Cut 3D butterfly punch and Square Parenthesis die
  • Sizzix flower & flourish dies
  • Whispers ink
  • Core'dinations Glitter Silk and colour core card
  • Acetate, vellum and twine from my stash
  • Damask Rose embossing folder from Cardmaking & Papercraft

When I'd finished making the card, I realised there's nowhere to write your message, so I added a vellum pocket to the back and made a tag insert to write on. I think it's actually a nice little touch to this style of card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Mixed Media Tag

Hello, it's been a while but the new arrival has been keeping me rather busy!
Today I have a Guest Designer spot over at TokBobok for their mixed media challenge.
I have used their lovely image 'Lilium', which I chose before giving birth and not knowing I was to have a girl, whom I named Lily! (It's my favourite flower)

I decided to make a tag rather than a card for this theme.  I embossed some acetate, which was great fun as I haven't done it before. I think it creates a great effect and I'll definitely be doing it again.  The background was supposed to be old book text, but it didn't print in the right resolution to show properly. I think it still looks good with the inking over the top though.

I have used the following materials to create this tag:

  • Card and twine from my stash
  • Eyelets and acetate from DoCrafts
  • Whispers ink
  • Embossalicious embossing folder 'Floral Frenzy'
  • Promarkers - Tulip Yellow, Lime Green, Bright Green, Forest Green, Peach, Mango and Bright Orange

I would like to enter this tag into the following challenges:
