A Vintage Wish

Hello there! I haven't blogged for a bit as been on holiday, but I'm home now so it's back to the grindstone... lol

Do you ever start colouring an image with a card or style in mind then it goes somewhere else completely?   I can't even remember what I originally had in mind for this mermaid, but as I don't usually go for green I decided I would for a change. Once she was finished I thought she would actually work really well on a vintage-style card.  Of course I still had some of the DP I bought on a whim in Michaels, so it turned out really well to use some up here.

Five Shades of Grey

If you are expecting something raunchy in this post, sorry to disappoint you with my cunning title! 
This month Kit & Clowder are featuring Mo's Digital Pencil 'Sparkle' image in the monthly class for markers.  I have never used any images from Mo's shop before, so this was a great opportunity for me to try.  I did the class first using the suggested colours of blues and pinks, then decided to step it up a bit and go monochromatic with a punch of colour.  I'm really happy with how this one turned out, so I decided I'd make her into a CAS card.  I've used a cool framing technique that I saw Lucy Gregg on the KennyK DT do to match the colours of the image. (Which is simply to colour a framed edge using one of your markers - genious!).

Blame it on Cadbury's!

Aurora Wings are currently having a challenge with the theme "My Favourite Colour Combo", so I was discussing this with a friend. My favourite colour is purple, which I blame on Cadbury's, but I never really thought about a favourite combo. My friend suggested purple and chocolate. I don't recall ever using that as a combo so thought it was a great idea. With the Cadbury's connection I've also added gold. I'm picturing the old style Dairy Milk wrapper with the gold foil!!
I've used the gorgeous image 'Poppy Elf' and changed things up a bit by doing her skin purple and the flowers brown.

Love, Laughter and A Dream Dress

I won a little 'guess the image' challenge in Sheepski Designs Facebook group a while ago and chose 'Dream Dress' as my prize.  I love this gorgeous image, but DT commitments and birthdays took over and I never coloured it up.  Andrea has now started her own blog challenges though, so I thought it was time I got my arse in gear!
I love different colours for weddings (my own dress was red) and I once did wedding make-up on a young girl who wore a beautiful pale pink dress.  I've taken this idea and also given it some sparkle with a CAS card.

A Little OTT?!

It's been a while since I coloured up a Saturated Canary image as I've been so busy with DT images and birthdays, so I thought it was about time. I spotted a couple of challenges with specific colour schemes/styles and used this as the basis for my colouring and card. 
I have chosen 'Starla' as she's such a cool character to use with bright colours. The sentiment comes with her. She's sadly no longer available, but there are some of the old Saturated Canary images for sale in sets of 5 in Krista's Etsy shop.
