A Little Surprise

It's that time of year when I'm kicking my Christmas crafting up a notch.  I have managed to make a few cards over the months, but as usual I leave most of it until this month. 

I've made a ton of cards lately, having had a couple of orders for them, so I thought I'd change things up and make some tags.  I had fun doing something a little different from what I normally do and made two tags together....the back one hides a surprise!!  The front tag features 'Wryn's Baubles' from Tiddly Inks.

Gingerbread Parade Bauble at Ching-Chou Kuik

Well that's it... the final week of inspiration for 2018 at the Ching-Chou Kuik Challenges.  I hope you've enjoyed the projects from all the girls this challenge as well as this year.

Guest Designer at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge

I was thrilled to be chosen as a winner and guest designer over at C.R.A.F.T Challenge last month, so I am here today showing off my creation for challenge #484.  The theme for this challenge is AUTUMN/WEATHER and the sponsor is Eureka Stamps.

We have a rather short autumn here in Saskatchewan and then the snow comes, so I have used weather as my theme.  I've made some Christmas gift tags using 'Winter Set of 4' and added snow to the three squares that don't have any.

Lanterns and Dragons

I'm trying to use some stash that hasn't seen daylight for a while. I'd already printed and coloured the gorgeous 'Chinese Lanterns' from Power Poppy when I thought about the Chinese-themed papers and embellishments I had stashed away (In my defence, my supplies are mostly in two big boxes in the tiny cupboard under the stairs... it pretty much kills me getting to anything in the box at the back!).
I followed another Page Map for the challenge. I don't usually use templates, but it's been great for some layout inspiration.

Holiday Hugs

I'm loving all the different makes for Power Poppy's 12 Days of Christmas and am trying to do a few at least. I've had a few gift boxes pinned for a while but just not made any yet, so this was the perfect excuse.  I always like to have a little something to hand for Christmas in case of unexpected visits.  
I have used part of the image 'Poinsettia and Pomegranates' to decorate the front panel. The box felt a little plain even after adding the twine and charm, so I used the leftover doily from making my gift card holders to decorate the top of the handle each side.

Cheery Snow Globe

I printed this image a while ago but then got caught up with DT work and making other cards, so it got left by the wayside.  I still had a couple more Christmas cards to make though so grabbed it out. 
It's actually a couple of images merged together - Little Miss Muffet Stamps 'Mason Jar Snowglobe' and Make It Crafty 'Lamp' (this was actually given as a freebie in the Facebook group, but you can find the same lamp in the image 'Cold By Light'.
The colouring on this is a bit experimental as I was trying for a glitter globe rather than a snow globe. It doesn't look quite so glittery as I'd like, but I'm still pretty happy for a first attempt.

Getting Wild with Power Poppy

Eep, after joining in with Power Poppy's Hues to Use challenge, I was chosen to be a Guest Designer this week. 
You can join in too by clicking here. There's a new palette each week and the linky lists don't expire. 

I chose to use 'Ruffled Wild Orchids' for this challenge and definitely went a bit wild with the colours. I'm not sure this colour scheme exists in nature, but I know there are some pretty cool orchid colours out there. 

I've made a matching card and tag as I wanted to colour the orchids in two different ways. There's more explanation of my process over on the Power Poppy Blog.
