Anything Goes at Ching-Chou Kuik

Once Upon A Time at Ching-Chou Kuik

I couldn't resist joining in the Ching-Chou Kuik Facebook challenge this month. The theme is 'Once Upon A Time' so we'd love to see your story-inspired makes. 

One of my favourite books as a child was 'The Worst Witch' by Jill Murphy and I actually still have my original copy! I'm very precious about books, so it's in great condition.  I did give it to my niece along with all my other childhood books but now she's a teenager and I have my own children, my sister gave them all back to me.

I have used 'Big Pumpkin' to make a pop-up card for my inspiration.  I made one of these last Halloween and I really love the design.  It can be given as a card, or if you're like me and can't bear to part with it, used as a decoration!

Happy Birthday Flowers, Feathers & Fairies

Spring Flowers at Club KennyK

It's time for a new challenge at Club KennyK on Facebook and as it's now officially spring, our DT theme is 'Spring Flowers'.

I am using the freebie for my spring-inspired card and chose to go with yellow, orange and turquoise/aqua as my main colours.  I bought a new pack of gorgeous bright flowers from Michaels to match the colours I'd used on the image.  It was quite handy that the brads I already had matched the flowers really well!

Hello Little One

Craftin Desert Divas have a sweet new digistamp release and if you are a member of their Facebook group you can grab 'Hello Little One' for free! There's also a colouring contest you can join in with. 

I'm lacking in baby cards in my stash, so this was a great opportunity to make a new one. 

I've made a feature of the image by colouring a scene and making a CAS card using a Kraft card from Michaels, some outline stickers (Anita's) and some cute baby pins from my stash (I can't remember where these were from!).

Friends Frame at Club KennyK

Our March challenge at Club KennyK is underway and this time the DT theme is 'Anything But A Card'. This really is a fun theme as you can get so creative with different ideas.

I actually had printed and coloured the image before I bought a frame, so I was lucky to find this one as it fits perfectly! I painted it with two coats of acrylic before attaching the image and embellishments.  The little cell brads I bought on a shopping trip not for any specific project, but I knew I had to have them and it goes so well with this image.

A Sweet Sundae

Do you have a favourite ice-cream? Mine is mint chocolate chip. When I saw this cute Ice Cream Sundae Sprite from Aurora Wings I knew that's the flavour it had to be. I'm not really fancying ice-cream at the moment though as after most of the snow had gone, we woke up to a white-out this morning.

'Gentle As Breeze' Twisted Easel

I have been trying to make as many DT cards as possible for somebody this year, but sometimes a challenge comes along that I can't resist and I make something for nobody in particular! (Or maybe I decide to just keep it for myself...bahaha)

Kit & Clowder have a group colouring challenge on Facebook at the moment using an image from Ching-Chou Kuik called 'Gentle As Breeze'. The theme is 'Your Favourite Colours', so I have used purple for the clothing. 
CCK's own group also have a challenge with the theme of 'Sing Me A Love Song', so I have combined the two. 
My inspiration song is 'A Thousand Years' by Christina Perri. The girl in the image looks a little sad and longing to me and reminds me of Bella Swan when Edward leaves her; all the months of waiting (sorry, if you're not a Twilight fan this will mean nothing to you!).  This song isn't from that scene as that song wasn't really a love song. 'A Thousand Years' is actually played in the end credits of 'Breaking Dawn' and the music video features scenes from the wedding. I have added a few lyrics on my card.

I've used techniques from Kit & Clowder's monthly classes and Elements of Nature class to draw and colour my background (the 'glow' I created myself though). If you haven't checked them out yet, please do.  The group is amazingly supportive and Alyce, the teacher, gives wonderful personal feedback.

In With The New at Club KennyK

Did you have a great Christmas and New Year?  The team at Club KennyK had a little break, but we're back now and changing things up a little for 2017.  Our challenges are now going to be monthly starting 1st February and will all be Anything Goes.  You will also be able to enter with just a colouring or with mixed media as long as it uses a KennyK image.

So if you love using Kenny K but have never joined us in the Club before, now is a great time to come visit. There will be prizes plus monthly freebies for those who enter the challenges.

Draco Christmas Tag ~ with Scrapper's Delights

Scrapper's Delights asked me to help out again with one more project for their Progressive Freebie Friday Challenge over on Facebook.  I was given Draco Xmas 2 to use (you can get this image free as part of the challenge - check rules) and thought he would make an awesome gift tag. 

The image comes with a few Christmas ornaments, so I swapped one of the ones he's holding using Photoshop.
